With a double-bladed paddle and either single or tandem kayaks available to choose from, kayaking is a fantastic activity for large or small groups. There are many places across the UK to hire equipment or go for guided paddles on flat, beautiful lakes to take in the scenery, or on white water river routes for the more adventurous paddlers, or even on the sea and along the beautiful British coastline.

Kayaking is a water based sport which involves a participant sitting low to the water in a kayak boat. Sitting forward with legs in front, the participant uses a double-bladed paddle to pull front to back on either sides of the boat in rotation. The majority of kayaks have a closed deck although there are a growing number of sit on kayaks in use. From simple touring on placid water to more challenging white-water descents and coastal challenges, the UK has something to suit all levels of abilities.
