There are plenty of beaches all around the UK which are suitable for surfing, with some having waves so powerful that they are used for international competitions. Surf schools are common at the most popular and accessible surfing beaches, who can provide lessons and equipment hire to surfers of all levels. No formal qualifications are needed to surf but lessons are recommended so you can learn the basics and the dangers associated with surfing. In addition to surfing beaches; artificial surfing venues are available, although these are rare.
