7Stanes Glentress

The Glentress centre is one of the '7 Stanes' mountain biking centres in Scotland ('Stane' is a Scottish word for 'Stone'). Each of these centres has large stone sculpture to be found along its trails.

Glentress is an award winning centre located next to the turn off for Glentress Forest from the A72 to the east of Peebles.

The trails here are considered to be some of the best in the world, attracting riders of all abilities from far and wide with something for everyone. For families and beginners there are green and blue trails spanning 22km of the forest. There is also a red route covering 18km, a black route of 29km and a orange free ride park.

Parking is available at the state of the art centre along with toilets, showers, changing rooms, bike wash and a cafe. Bike hire is available from Alpine Bikes 7 days per week - bookings are recommended.
