About

Lee Valley White Water Centre is home to the white water course used in the London 2012 Olympics. This is a purpose built centre in Waltham Abbey in Essex, close to London which has facilities for canoeing, kayaking and white water rafting.

The canoeing and kayaking courses are suitable for people of all abilities. These are either available on the lake or on the moving water course. You can participate in short taster sessions, private tuition and longer group based courses.

For rafting, there is a 300-metre competition course which has a drop of 5.5 metres and an intermediate course which is 160 metres long with a drop of 1.6 metres, powered by pumps. Sessions can last 3-4 hours.

Equipment and instruction are provided by the centre. Other facilities include parking, a café and bar, changing and showering facilities and lockers.
