Dramatic peaks & pinesThe Cairngorms
Snow-capped mountains glisten in the Scottish sunshine, shadowy pine forests are filled with magic and mystery and the famous northern hospitality overflows from the pretty little towns dotted over this large expanse of north east Scotland. The Cairngorms are a paradise for wildlife and adventure-seekers alike. With mile-upon-mile of unspoiled habitat, lakes to canoe on, forests to mountain bike through and many hidden viewpoints from which to watch Mother Nature at work, this is an area of Scotland not to be missed.
The Cairngorms National Park is found in north east Scotland and is the largest national park in the UK covering 1,748 square miles. It incorporates the Cairngorms mountain range and Aberdeenshire, Highland, Moray, Angus and more recently Perth and Kinross.

Popular Activities
Our favourite activities in the Cairngorms.
Hill Walking
The United Kingdom boasts a huge variety of mountains and hills – rewarding tired legs with space, solitude and spectacular views across the country.
Skiing
Often viewed as an activity reserved for expensive alpine resorts, there are several locations in the UK to ski on real snow, amongst beautiful landscapes powdered with glistening snow.
Climbing
With many different variations, there’s a form of climbing to suit all abilities – both indoors and out, and great places to climb wherever you are in the UK.
Mountain Biking
Whether racing downhill, riding a single track or cross-country, there are few better ways to explore the UK countryside than by mountain bike and few better ways to get seriously muddy in the process.
